Potmistress Lady Chatsalot, who also made the Queen of Hearts and Alice outfits.
A very creative and stylish costume. 'Drink Me.' Her friend was 'Eat Me.'
Myself and Kat
Me and Beth as The Jabberwocky and The Caterpillar. My horns and cape are by Yizzimindi, Beth made her own costume.
Me, duelling.
The talented designer behind Clockwork Butterfly was also there. She was so sweet and friendly in real life, too!
Even the Duchess was there, complete with pig baby. I hope she remembered to put pepper in her tea.

Wow, grgeous cosplays and outfits, I especially love the Drink me - girl. :)
ReplyDeleteYour hors look great, but kind of heavy...what are they made of? :)
Thanks! They are actually light and very comfortable! Much better than a pair I tried to make myself once! I am not really sure what they are made of as my friend Yasmin who runs the Yizzimindi store made them for me.
DeleteALICE! :-) What a perfect theme for a tea party and duel. Everyone looks awesome. So, I've been challenged to my first tea duel by someone who works at the the library. I see him all the time and he's a big tea buff ... and apparently, he's gotten into tea dueling. I didn't even know that he was that into Steampunk, though he is a huge Anglophile and 19th century lover.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I've never participated in a tea duel and a big lunch is riding on this -- scholars ALWAYS bet lunch. Any helpful hints or suggestions? Thanks.
Oooh, that sounds exciting. I have heard that American Tea Duel rules differ slightly from Australian ones, has he said what set of rules to use, and will there be a non-biased judge?
DeleteA lot of the people who do well in the duels practice at home with the right kind of biscuit (we use Scotch Fingers). One of the tricks is darting your head in quickly to catch the falling biscuit in your mouth. I often miss at doing that. It can mean the difference between tying and winning. I would also advise a steady hand and not turning your biscuit too fast if it stays alive long enough to get to the turning part.
There is a video with the Australian rules here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DViXEnsr58Y
Looks like extreme fun, I'm jealous! I'm not a fan of 'Alice...', but this event is so great, everyone looks so good. Such a shame such parties aren't held here.
ReplyDeleteI love the photo of you, duelling, it looks very decadent. All photos are very atmospheric, though.
Thank you!
DeleteHow wonderful. :) I got to dress as Alice recently for a thing with my Creative Writing class.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun!
DeleteWow! What a great tea party!! "Drink Me" is just fabulous, and you look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle over the "Potmistress". Now THAT is a job title!! ;D

DeleteThese photos are awesome! Love the duchess with the pig.
ReplyDeleteIt was such a great outfit! I have never seen anyone dressed as her for an event before, so it was great that she really went for it!
DeleteWOAH, that looks like the best party ever! Everyone looks great, what a fun idea, I hope you had a good time, it sure looks like you did! The horns are so cool, is it weird to say you look great with them?
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful day! We all had a great time, and some of my friends got prizes too, which was great! Thanks, no I don't think it's weird to say I look good in horns, but then, I am weird too, ha ha! :)
DeleteWow, it looks like so much fun! The costumes were all great, and I love Alice: Madness Returns :)
ReplyDeleteIt was! :)
DeleteHahaha, that must have been fun! The costumes are great and must love the last pics about the king running!
ReplyDeleteYes, it was fun watching all the organisers act their parts! The poor king! His wife was a little scary!
DeleteHow adorable and enjoyable! And I know Laura that one day you will get your dream home. With a little yard where you can grow flowers and have tea parties. xxx
