Beautiful Sounds Assignment

http://thecuriousprofessorz.blogspot.com.au/2015/02/february-homework-assignment-beautiful_26.html

I am fairly musically illiterate, but I will do my best!

I can sing but I can't play an instrument, read music, pick out notes or eras. I like a wide range of music but can't really tell you why except that certain songs move me. I will listen to different musicians depending on the mood I am in, but I couldn't tell you why that is, either.

Sopor Aeternus combines beautiful and what could be considered horrific vocals, drawing on sounds of raw human pain and terror.

The Skeletal Garden is a good example of this. The music could be described as a combination of Renaissance sounding music and unearthly howling vocals.

I also appreciate the way opera music and classical pieces such as Lacrimosa, Waltz of tge Flowers and No One Shall Know My Name can stir our emotions.

Some of my other favourite songs include Wytches and Heart of Lilith by Inkubus Sukkubus, Cemetry Gates by The Smiths, Winterborn by The Cruxshadows, Charlotte Sometimes, The Hanging Garden, The Lovecats and Burn by The Cure. Also pretty much everything by Agnes Obel and Loreena McKennit.

My favourite song is usually Just Like Heaven by The Cure.

Well, I did my best, dear professor, please give me an A for effort!

Please check out the other students homework as well!

Spooky Home

You need some kind of awesome tiles in one of the rooms

Big Addams family portrait somewhere, cause we all know we are Addams swapped at birth!

The house should possibly be up on a hill with lots of heather!

Opulent mother of pearl bathroom art

Some bookhouses for faeries, perhaps

Your bird needs a Gothic castle cage

A coffee table that can talk to the dead

A bat lamp

A lamp made from the spines of your enemies

A possessed toy or two

The cursed belongings of ancestors, hidden in forbidden rooms

Lets just hope this isn't a real arm!

Ravens and skulls

Witch crystals

Gallery walls, with creepy images

Like this beautiful and eerie photo

A few crows never go astray. You could attract them by leaving your enemies' corpses around.

Dead ancestors tomb. You can always adopt one!

Turrets are important! If the house looks like it has a face, so much the better!

There are so many creepy door handles to choose from!

Living in a surreal, evil alternate reality always helps!
Artist: I can't remember his name, it's driving me crazy! He usually does big eyed, big headed Kawaii Goth images.

Witch faery door

And some perfect images from Variations on Light to set the scene!

These two images are from Retro Electric

I love this image that my friend referred to as a Versace Opium Den

Last but not least, this Edward Gorey inspired ball really sets a glorious Gothic scene!

Midnight and Brownie

My friends Midnight and Brownie live next door, but often come over to visit. They are best friends forever, and like to go for walks together down the street.

Midnight and Brownie are chickens. They live with some other adopted sisters in the chicken run next door, but they love to wander, and are almost always seen together.

I don't actually know Brownie's real name, I have been calling her Brownie until I find out her real name, but I never see her owners around.

They come up to the front door and call for food, but they don't really like being patted, attempts at patting result in a call that sounds a lot like no no no no!

They also enjoy wrecking gardens.
